Battle of the AI Titans: A Comprehensive Comparison between Bing AI and Chat GPT

Battle of the AI Titans: A Comprehensive Comparison between Bing AI and Chat GPT coverWhen it comes to artificial intelligence chats, Bing Chat and ChatGPT are two of the newest and most widely available options on the market. While they are both based on similar language models, there are some key differences between the two that are worth considering.

What is Bing Chat?

Everybody knows what GPT is. So let’s introduce Bing. It's a conversational AI chatbot created by Microsoft that lets you interact with a virtual assistant in a natural way. The chatbot is equipped with Bing search engine integration, which means it can provide you with information, suggestions, and even perform tasks like answering questions and finding nearby locations. You can access Bing Chatbot from Facebook Messenger, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.

Do ChatGPT and Bing Chat use the same language model?

Let's start with how to access each bot. ChatGPT is available through the main OpenAI website and can be accessed for free with an account. You can quickly access it from your desktop or Mac if needed. Bing Chat, on the other hand, is available on more platforms, including the mobile Edge browser for smartphones. It requires downloading the latest version of Microsoft Edge, which may be a hassle for some users. However, it does have integrations in Skype, Teams, and the Edge browser. ChatGPT is available in Slack and will soon be coming to Discord

ChatGPT offers a premium paid tier, known as ChatGPT Plus, which provides greater access to the tool, including the GPT-4 model. Bing Chat is completely free, but it has a limit of 150 conversations per day and 15 chats per session, with a conversation length limit of 2,000 characters. ChatGPT has a character limit but currently has no limit on the number of conversations you can have per day.

Both artificial intelligence chatbots are based on the same fundamental language model, GPT-4, giving them a broad scope of information up to 2021. Bing Chat has an advantage in that it can pull from more recent web sources and has undergone additional training to handle more nuanced tasks.

Bing Chat and ChatGPT: what can you do?

Both artificial intelligence chats can understand natural language questions and statements and support a range of languages. ChatGPT is more focused on English, while Bing Chat offers a wider array of non-English languages. They can both be used for research beyond what traditional search engines can provide. ChatGPT is particularly adept at creative writing, while Bing Chat has a range of modes that can be tailored to specific goals, including a game mode and the new Copilot mode.

Ultimately, which bot to choose will depend on your specific needs and preferences.

Generation of AI-based images

Bing chat bot has made waves by introducing its latest feature - the Bing Image Creator, capable of generating AI imagery. Utilizing an advanced DALL-E model, the Image Creator enables users to create images within the chat, a feature not yet offered by ChatGPT.

Although OpenAI developed the DALL-E model, the company currently views image generation and text generation as two distinct products. Microsoft, on the other hand, has taken the lead by attempting to merge both functionalities, a move yet to be seen from competitors.

Conclusion

Excitement abounds with the advent of Bing Chat and ChatGPT, two new tools teeming with untapped potential. While each platform has its strengths, Bing chat bot ai excels in offering real-time updates and acting as a virtual assistant. In contrast, ChatGPT's prowess lies in creative conversations and style-specific writing assistance, making it a fantastic tool for prompts and proofreading.

For those new to AI chat tools, Bing Chat's user-friendly interface and Microsoft's helpful guidance make it an excellent starting point. However, when it comes to exploration and unlimited use, ChatGPT's no-session or conversation limit, plus the convenience of not requiring Edge download, make it a go-to choice. With ChatGPT, users can unleash their creativity and benefit from unlimited interactions without worrying about daily allowances or restrictions.
