Crowdfunding to Support the Initiative for Online PTSD Recovery Solution on JustGiving
/>Contribute to Breeaath's crowdfunding campaign on JustGiving to develop a web-based HRV monitoring system.Introduction:
June is well known as PTSD Awareness Month, and PTSD Awareness Day falls on the 27 th of June. The Breeaath team located in Ukraine has a direct understanding of the issues associated with PTSD and other related concerns which have been on the rise especially in the last two years given the circumstances back home. In order to counter this emerging problem, they have created a crowdfunding campaign on JustGiving to Accomplish two goals, the first one of them is to assist people with PTSD in Ukraine, the second one is to evolve to make people all around the world needed assistance.
The Breeaath Solution:
The Breeaath project should make it easier for users to watch their state when they are doing relaxation tasks. As opposed to existing devices, Breeaath can also offer full-time, non-invasive tracking of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) without the need for wearables with the aid of a laptop camera. This data will enable PTSP treatment professionals to ensure that breathing sessions meet the needs of each individual and that relaxation gets to be achieved optimally.
The Breeaath technology leverages rPPG, a contactless technology that takes video of faces to detect health information including, pulse rate, pulse rate variability, respiratory rate, respiratory rate variability, and respiratory biofeedback during relaxation. The increased and specific information on breathing patterns for PTSD can to a great extent improve PTSD’s management by providing immediate feedback and instructions to patients.
Campaign Goals and Impact:
The campaign’s initial funding goal of £20,000 will allow the Breeaath team to create a web-based platform of unprecedented functionality which includes a superlative client, strong backend processing, solutions for high-level signal processing and state-of-the-art computer vision aided by artificial intelligence. To this, the team will develop a mobile application with an extra £50,000 to make it more portable by including in their stretch goal.
When contributing to this campaign, one can help implement a part of the solution where people globally can comprehend and overcome the symptoms of PTSD. The Breeaath technology and platform will be free for refugees, kids, retired soldiers, and any other individuals who have PTSD, and it will positively and significantly change lives and dramatically help and innovate for people who need it and deserve it.
About the Breeaath Team:
Over the project Breeaath, this work involves the participation of an NGO known as “Health Pillars of Ukraine” working in partnership with Breeaath, LLC based in the USA. The team therefore consists of frontend and backend developers, signal processing engineers and this latest of artificial intelligence and computer vision and a PTSD specialist.
