Hey there, fellow techies and Pokémon fans! You're in for a treat - there's a brand-new Pokémon manga in town, and guess what? It's gonna be hilarious! The newbie's called Pokémon ~~Detouring Volt Tacklers!!~~ (Don't take my word for it, the English title's still up in the air; the Japanese version's Pocket Monster ~~Yorimichi Volteccers!!~~). This comic's gonna ride the wave of the Pokémon Horizons: The Series anime, featuring the same world and the same squad.

Hot Off the Press

This spicy bit of news came hot off the press in the August issue of Ciao magazine, brought to you by the legends over at Shogakukan. This manga's in the capable hands of Rikka Kise, a fresh face in the Pokémon publishing scene. Get ready to LOL when Pokémon ~~Detouring Volt Tacklers!!~~ makes its big debut on August 3rd, 2023, in Ciao's next issue.

The End of an Era

In the same issue of Ciao, we found out that the currently running Pokémon manga, Pokémon: Liko's Treasure, has packed up its bags. The comic had its run since May 2nd and has already reached the finish line after two episodes. It was a nice little side story set in the Pokémon Horizons: The Series anime universe, featuring one of the characters, Liko.

Out with the Old, In with the New

Pokémon Horizons: The Series is a fresh start for the Pokémon anime, as it said goodbye to the beloved Ash Ketchum after his ultimate victory as the Pokémon World Champion. Now it's all about newbies Liko and Roy, alongside Pokémon from the latest games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. And get this - there's a new Pikachu in town, and he's the Captain!

The anime hit the screens on April 14th, 2023, and it's all set to entertain us for the rest of the year and beyond. These short manga spin-offs are adding some extra flavor to this new world, giving us a deeper look at these new characters, especially since we've spent years from 1998 to 2022 watching Ash and his Pikachu on our screens.

Chances are, Pokémon ~~Detouring Volt Tacklers!!~~ will follow the short-story format like Pokémon: Liko's Adventures. The mission here is to get fans hooked on the new characters, help them bid farewell to Ash, and hopefully, this comedy can keep doing just that. Let's face it, we could use some laughs after the buzzkill press from the latest gen Pokémon games.
