# I Went to Resident Evil for My Boyfriend,  and Stumbled Into the Best Popcorn Movie of the Year

I’ll be honest: I am not a die-hard Resident Evil fan. Everything I knew about the universe before stepping into the theater came from two things: background research for an article I wrote on a potential Code: Veronica remake, and non-stop crash courses from my boyfriend, who obviously wasn't going to miss this premiere for anything.

I almost stayed home because I expected an exhausting horror movie where you spend half the time covering your eyes. Turns out, I was completely wrong. Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil isn’t here to traumatize you; it’s just pure, unfiltered fun.

### A Gamified Cinematic Experience

The film captures the thrill of playing a survival horror game without ever making you wish you were holding a controller instead of watching the screen. It translates third-person game mechanics directly into visual storytelling:

* Perspective and Panic-Aiming: The camera hovers right over the shoulder, mimicking classic gameplay angles. In one scene, the protagonist tries to land a headshot on a monster, misses several times in pure panic, and scrambles. Anyone who has ever played a game with low ammo knows that exact feeling.
* Diegetic Easter Eggs: The environment is packed with nods for fans: first-aid spray cans, green herb pots casually stashed in car trunks, typewriter save points acting as safe zones, and an endless array of locked doors requiring keys before you can progress.
* Resource Management and Progression: Ammo supply isn't infinite. It runs out right when the stakes are highest, forcing the main character to constantly look for heavier weapons just to make it to the next room.

### Austin Abrams and the Power of a Focused Story

A huge reason this movie works so well is Austin Abrams. He makes his character so alive, funny, and deeply charismatic that you can't help but root for his survival from start to finish.

Instead of cluttering the plot with a dozen unnecessary subplots or a massive ensemble cast, the film stays tightly focused on him. That decision makes all the difference, it allows the audience to experience the game's atmosphere directly through his eyes. He isn't a stoic super-soldier; he's an unlucky guy trying to survive an absurd nightmare, and his humor grounds the entire movie.

Whenever he freaks out, screams, or loses his mind over a monster, it feels refreshingly honest. Honestly, if a zombie apocalypse actually happened tomorrow, that exact mix of pure panic and high-pitched yelling is precisely how I would react.

Another element that elevates the entire experience is the sound design. The musical score and atmospheric audio build suspense so effectively that every quiet corridor feels thick with tension long before anything jumps out at you.

It hits a rare balance: it’s funny, tense, scary, and easily one of the best entertainment spectacles meant specifically for the big screen.

As critic Zach Pope put it while summing up the hype around this reboot:

"This movie starts off at 30mph and somehow keeps shifting gears until it hits 200. It is fast, gory, utterly insane, and pretty much everything I wanted from a Resident Evil movie."

### My Verdict

If you've been holding off on buying a ticket because you don't know the game lore or usually avoid horror - don't be. It currently holds a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes for a reason. Grab some popcorn, head to the theater, and let Raccoon City pull you out of your daily routine for two hours!

# The Billionaire Savior Complex: Why Elon Musk Wants You to Fear AI (While He Builds It)

Elon Musk is at it again. In a detailed interview with The Economist, the world’s richest man dropped another round of apocalyptic predictions about Artificial Intelligence. His key forecast? Within just five years, advanced AI models will view humans the same way humans currently view chimpanzees - cute, inferior, and entirely dependent on the goodwill of a superior species.

It is a classic Musk performance: equal parts sci-fi thriller, existential doom, and heroic savior complex. But as The Economist cleverly pointed out, two massive paradoxes are sitting right at the center of Musk’s apocalyptic sermon.

### Paradox #1: The Power-Hungry Tycoon Building His Own Demise

Musk warns that AI will render all human beings - including himself - completely powerless in a matter of years. Yet, instead of stepping back, he is enthusiastically throwing billions into xAI, massive GPU clusters, and autonomous Tesla tech. If AI is genuinely going to turn humanity into zoo animals, why is the most power-hungry billionaire on the planet working overtime to accelerate it?

### Paradox #2: A World Without Money (According to a $750 Billion Man)

The second wild claim from the interview is Musk’s vision of a post-scarcity future. He claims AI will create a world of 'infinite abundance' where money will literally lose its meaning - rendering his own estimated $750 billion fortune completely useless.

It’s a bizarrely utopian thought experiment coming from the ultimate capitalist. But if money truly won't matter in a few years, why is Musk still aggressively negotiating massive Tesla pay packages and fighting for market share in every sector?

### The Business Behind the 'Savior' Persona

So, why does Musk maintain this dramatic savior vibe? Because a catastrophic narrative is the ultimate PR and regulatory strategy.

By framing AI as an existential threat to humanity, Musk positions himself not just as another tech CEO, but as the self-appointed guardian of our species. It’s a genius double play:

**1. Regulatory Moats:** Pushing for strict AI regulation in the name of 'safety' conveniently slows down competitors like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, giving his own xAI time to catch up.

**2. The Hero Discount:** Investors don't just put money into xAI or Tesla for immediate quarterly profits; they invest in Elon the Visionary - the man allegedly saving us from an AI apocalypse and taking us to Mars.

**3. Hype as a Weapon:** Talking about god-like AI keeps his companies at the absolute center of global conversation, driving valuation and talent to his doorstep.

Musk wants us to believe he is the protagonist in a sci-fi movie, reluctantly building the super-tech just to make sure it doesn't destroy us first. But when you strip away the chimpanzee analogies and the sci-fi doom, the reality is much simpler: catastrophizing AI isn't just a philosophical stance - it’s one of the most profitable marketing strategies in modern tech.

Elon Musk warns AI will treat humans like chimpanzees within five years. Discover the business strategy behind his apocalyptic warnings and xAI's rapid growth.

## Introduction:

A legendary [Pokémon](https://www.pokemon.com/ru/) fan used their creativity and experience with the series to create three brand new Poké Balls that are very similar to Blastoise, Koffing, and Porygon.
As mentioned, a die-hard Pokémon lover used their special printer and professional skills to make unique and masterpiece-like Poké Balls that look similar to Blastoise, Koffing, and Porygon.
These Pokémon balls can really capture the essence of these Pokémon, making fans amazed by their creative looks that bear so much resemblance to their favorite Pokémon.
When the Pokémon series began, there were only a few Poké Balls available, but today there are many with special features built into them.
Some help catch Pokémon in the easiest way, while others help boost the Pokémon inside them.
Normally, the Poké Ball tries to affect the Pokémon, but these brand new three designs set an example of what it would be like if the Poké Ball transformed to look like Pokémon.
A hardcore Pokémon fan named threerobots released their latest innovation on Reddit. One of them is a Blastoise ball that is super shiny with chrome details and cannons, a brown top like Blastoise's shell, and little blue pegs for legs.
The second one, based on Koffing, is very simple but has a purple color and also dents like Koffing's design on it.
Last but not least, the Porygon Poké Ball is a less shiny version, more angular, and not as round as a typical Poké Ball.

There was curiosity among fans about how they were created, and undoubtedly, the creator of this masterpiece, threerobots, revealed everything before fans.
They answered by saying that they are all printed, and their basic designs were made with the help of a resin printer. Then, they sanded them down and airbrushed them with chrome and clear colors.
They also revealed the original prices for someone who wants to buy one, just go check threerobots' Etsy shop, where prices for each Pokémon range from [$54.37 to $81.56](https://app.mash.com/reward/af37b89c-1817-46ae-8d67-099f58eb6ac4).
