This July is striking in its diversity: the return of classics, new titles in genres that have not been updated for a long time, experiments with AI, procedural generation, biopunk, and rhythm strategies. More than 25 releases - and almost every one of them deserves attention.

## Mecha BREAK

Release date: 2 July (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)

The Asian competitor to Titanfall and Pacific Rim became a major sensation with a beta launch that attracted 300,000 players at once. It is a team multiplayer game with financial ambitions: three modes - classic 3×3, large-scale 6×6, and PvE/PvP hybrid with elements of an action shooter. By changing the game style, from jet ninjas to heavy tanks, each mech is upgraded promptly. The main feature is combat special effects, vertical battles, and the ability to upgrade every detail of the pilot. Mecha BREAK claims to be a multiplayer hit this summer.

## Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream

Release date: 15 July (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)

This isometric stealth project from the veterans of the AAA sector (Battlefield, Mirror's Edge, Little Nightmares) resembles a hybrid of Inside and Disco Elysium. The protagonist, Hannah, investigates the disappearance of her brother in a depressing diesel-punk city with a touch of Scandinavian modernism. Commandos-style puzzles and stealth are interspersed with a cinematic storyline. Eriksholm challenges the player to improvise and make tactical decisions.

## Donkey Kong Bananza

Release date: 17 July (Switch 2)

A standard platformer featuring Donkey Kong with bright humour and new features. DK can break walls, dig tunnels, and use found objects as platforms or weapons. Animal shapes have been added to the skill tree: zebra for speed, ostrich for flight. In co-op, Pauline plays the second role. The game doesn't look like a hit, but with the new Switch 2, it has every chance to sweeten the summer.

## Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Release date: 24 July (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)

A soul-style action game from Leenzee about the pirate Bai Wuchang in the dark world of the late Ming Dynasty. She is armed with swords, spears, axes, and witchcraft spells (up to 40 options). Death gives a special mark that changes the balance of power/defence; repeated death leads to the appearance of a demonic double. A non-linear world open for exploration.

## Killing Floor 3

Release date: 24 July (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)

The third instalment of the cult co-op survival series from Tripwire Interactive. The attack of the Zed mutants continues, but in the new world of the XXI century: now the enemies are faster, more cunning, and more aggressive. The MEAT system makes executions more brutal. Players can increase their arsenal, customise character classes, and take part in team assaults. Instead of the announcement in March, we're going to release it with additional changes.

## Grounded 2

Release date: 29 July (PC, Xbox X/S)

The sequel to the cult survival game world from Obsidian and Eidos-Montréal. You and three friends are returned to Brookhollow Park with an expanded landscape: forests, anthills, ponds, and human footprints. New biomes add challenges, and the insect AI gets smarter. A combination of survival, crafting, and campaigns with a very atmospheric world scale.

## Grounded 2 (preview) 

Release date: 29 July (Xbox Series X|S, PC)

The world has become even more vertical: now the player not only explores the surface, but also moves through a complex multi-level ecosystem - plant crowns, tunnels underground, and hidden nests. Smart insects pose a particular danger. They unite in colonies, patrol the territory, and are capable of coordinating actions and chasing.

A new mechanic is riding insects, which can be tamed, trained, and used as transport or combat assistants. An RPG pumping system for equipment and weapons has been added, as well as improved base construction.

## Mycopunk 

Release date: 10 July (PC)

An intriguing biopunk action game where the player fights aggressive fungal organisms in a procedurally generated environment. The flora here is not a decoration, but an evolving and adapting enemy. Each contaminated biome is a new challenge for the player.

## Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4

Release date: 11 July (PC, PS4/5, Xbox One/X|S, Switch, Switch 2)

## Major Tournament Details

In 2025, numerous significant events are expected to bring together the best teams and players from around the world. Below we've compiled some of the main events worth paying attention to in the coming year.

### 1. BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 — Counter-Strike 2

Valve Major Championships is a series of esports tournaments sponsored by Valve. The first tournament in the series was organized by DreamHack and took place in 2013 in Jönköping, Sweden. 16 teams participated, with a total prize pool of $250,000. Fnatic became the winner. The current champions, who won at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, are Team Spirit, who defeated FaZe Clan in the finals and earned $500,000 in prize money.

BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 will take place from July 9-22, 2025, in Austin, Texas. 24 teams will participate. After the RMR stage, qualifying teams will be seeded based on Valve's regional rankings in their region. The total prize pool will be $1,250,000.

### 2. The International 2025 — Dota 2

The International is the first and one of the largest esports tournaments in Dota 2. The tournament series is conducted under Valve's supervision. Usually, the final part of the event brings together about 20 teams. Since 2011, when the first The International was held, the tournament has been held once a year and is the most anticipated and prestigious event in the game. The current TI 13 champions are Team Liquid, who defeated the European team Gaimin Gladiators in the finals, earning $1,249,445 in prize money.

Currently, the exact date and location of The International 2025 are unknown. However, according to information from a Russian-speaking blogger and journalist, TI 14 will again be held in China. The tentative date is September or October when all previous events in the series were held. Also, esports commentator Austin "Capitalist" Walsh stated that starting in 2025, the tournament operator PGL will take over the event organization. Based on information from TI 12 and 13, it can be assumed that the total prize pool of the upcoming tournament will be around $3,000,000.

### 3. World Championship 2025 — League of Legends

The Tournament World Championship is an annual esports tournament for League of Legends, conducted by Riot Games since 2011. Teams from all regions participate in the event and compete for the World Champions Cup. The current champions, who won the World Championship 2024, are the South Korean organization T1, who defeated the Chinese team Bilibili Gaming in the finals and earned $445,000.

The League of Legends World Championship 2025 will start in October and continue until November 2025 in Chengdu, China. It is expected that 17 teams will participate this year, maintaining the MSI slots, and three teams from each competitive League region that qualify for first place. Before the Swiss stage, there will be one best-of-3 match between two teams. The total prize pool will be $2,225,000.

### 4. Champion Series 2025 — Fortnite

Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) is the largest Fortnite tournament, conducted by the game's developers — Epic Games since 2019 for all regions. Many players participate in the duo format, and the event proceeds as follows:

**Upper Bracket**

* 3-hour limit and 6 matches
* Points are calculated based on placement and eliminations
* Top 1-25 places automatically advance to finals
* Top 26-50 places drop to lower bracket

**Lower Bracket**

* 3-hour limit and 6 matches
* Points calculated based on placement and eliminations
* Top 1-25 places advance to finals

**Finals**

* 3-hour limit and 6 matches
* Points calculated based on placement and eliminations
* Thus, 50 players make it to the finals

Recall that starting from 2025, the tournament format will be changed — as announced by developer Epic Games. The main change in the competition format relates to the number of participants in teams. Now the tournament will feature three-person teams, unlike the last two seasons when the Duo mode (with two players) was used. Also, after two years of absence, the Siphon system will return to professional games. This mechanic will allow players to restore health and shields when dealing damage to opponents, which should encourage users to engage in more active gameplay.

The FNCS 2025 prize pool will be $8 million, which is $1 million more than in the 2024 season. Currently, the date and venue of the tournament remain unknown.

### 5. Champions Tour 2025 — VALORANT

VCT is a series of esports tournaments for VALORANT, conducted by Riot Games. The event represents a season of tournaments where points necessary for advancing to the main stage are earned.

The season is divided into 3 stages:

* Valorant Challengers — regional qualifications featuring seven regions: North America, EMEA, South Korea, Japan, APR, Brazil, South America, and Latin America. Held twice
* Valorant Masters — during the "masters," a large number of points necessary for qualification to the final stage are awarded
* Valorant Champions — the final stage, which teams with the most points qualify for

VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 will take place from September 12 to October 5, 2025, in Paris, France. 16 teams that have passed the Valorant Challengers and Valorant Masters stages will participate. The total prize pool will be $2,250,000.

### 6. Esports World Cup 2025 — Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Esports World Cup is an annual series of esports competitions organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation, a non-profit organization supported by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was included in the list of disciplines for 2025. The Esports World Cup Foundation has also expanded its partnership program to 40 organizations.

MSC and MWI (women's tournament) will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from June to August 2025. The exact prize pool and MSC participants are currently unknown. In 2024, the total MWI prize pool was $550,000.
