# Bundle or expansion? How to buy Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen without paying twice

Dark Arisen came out on October 9, and a lot of people are stuck on the same question: $49.99 or $29.99? The store page doesn't make it clear which one you need, and there are two prices and only one name.

The short answer

* You own Dragon's Dogma 2 on PS5, Xbox or Steam: buy the expansion for $29.99.
* You don't own it: buy the bundle for $49.99. It includes the base game.
* You're on Switch 2: the bundle is the only version.

## Why the name is confusing

If “Dark Arisen” rings a bell, you're probably remembering the 2013 expanded re-release of the first Dragon's Dogma. This one is built differently. On PS5, Xbox and Steam, Dark Arisen is an add-on that does nothing without the base game. The $49.99 “Dark Arisen” product is that add-on sold together with the base game. On Switch 2, DD2 is arriving for the first time, so only the bundle exists there.

## What's inside

The main attraction is Norgan, a snowy region in the north that nobody has lived in for ages. The story there is called Forsaken Dominion: you team up with a new character, Eir, to find out what's going on with the undying Fallen Dragon.

Back on the familiar map you get twelve new dungeons called Lost Rites. The character creator gets new options too.

Title Update 4.0 arrives the same day, with Hard Mode and quality-of-life changes. Earlier title updates this year were free for everyone, so check the patch notes to see what 4.0 needs the expansion for. Capcom has also added a new batch of Official Pawns with names like Toy Leon and Knockoff Ryu.

## New to DD2? The bundle is the cheaper route

Capcom spent June getting the store ready. The expansion was announced at a Nintendo Direct that month. Within weeks, the Deluxe Edition of the base game disappeared, along with most of the paid shortcut items from launch, such as Wakestones, which bring dead characters back to life. The base game also got a permanent price cut. It launched at $69.99, and in Europe it now costs €39.99.

Here's what that does to the math, in euros. The base game plus the expansion bought separately is €69.98. The bundle is €49.99, so you save about €20. Check the base game's price in your region: as long as it's above $20, the bundle is cheaper.

If the microtransactions were why you skipped DD2 at launch, most of them are gone now.

## Already own DD2? Three things before you buy

* Level 40 is recommended for Norgan, though you can walk in earlier.
* To start the DLC, talk to Captain Brant at the Stardrop Inn in Vernworth at night. He gets two new dialogue options: one for the Norgan story, one for Lost Rites.
* If your save has already reached the Unmoored World, the DLC stays locked until you start New Game+.

## Is it worth it?

Two early reviews are out. Vice calls it a must-play with enough content to pass as a standalone game. RPGFan calls it the definitive Dragon's Dogma sequel, though it says the story is basic. Two reviews aren't a verdict, so player reviews on Steam will tell you more in a few weeks.

Buy it if you liked DD2 and wanted a reason to go back, or if you're new and the bundle costs less than the base game plus the expansion. If you dropped DD2 early because it didn't click, an expansion to that same game is a hard sell.

On Switch 2, check performance reports before you buy, since the bundle is the only way to get the game there.

### Beyond Pomodoro: Why Standard Time Management Fails Entrepreneurs (And What Actually Works)

If you open any generic productivity blog, you’ll find the same holy trinity of advice: set a Pomodoro timer, follow the two-minute rule, and read The One Thing.

But let’s be brutally honest. When you are running a business, especially in the chaotic, fast-paced world of tech and startups, your day doesn't look like a neat, predictable 9-to-5 schedule. You are context-switching every twenty minutes, jumping from investor pitches and marketing strategies to sudden operational fires and product bugs.

Trying to apply standard corporate time management to entrepreneurship is like trying to navigate a jungle with a map of a shopping mall. It just doesn’t fit.

We tested the most popular time-management frameworks through the lens of raw entrepreneurial survival. Here is the honest breakdown of what actually saves your sanity and what is just total marketing noise.

#### 1. The One Thing (The Focus Anchor)

The Concept: Identify the single most impactful task that, by doing it, will make everything else easier or unnecessary.

This is arguably the most critical framework for a founder. When you run a business, you have a never-ending to-do list of 50 items. If you treat them all equally, you stall.

How to use it: Before you open Slack or check your emails in the morning, define your "One Thing" for the day. Is it closing that key partnership? Fixing the product’s core retention loop? Everything else is secondary noise until that one thing crosses the finish line.\
\
The Entrepreneurial Verdict: 10/10.

#### 2. The 2-Minute Rule (The Admin Debt Destroyer)

The Concept: If a task takes less than two minutes to complete (like replying to a quick message), do it immediately.

For an employee, this keeps the inbox clean. For an entrepreneur, this is a highway to micro-management hell. Your day is filled with a hundred 2-minute distractions from your team, clients, and vendors. If you do them all immediately, you will spend your entire day doing low-value admin work and zero long-term strategic building.

How to use it: Never do it in the morning. Batch your "2-minute tasks" into a single 30-minute window at the very end of the day when your creative energy is already spent.\
\
The Entrepreneurial Verdict: 4/10 (A Dangerous Trap).

#### 3. The Pomodoro Technique (The Linear Executioner)

The Concept: Work for 25 minutes with hyper-focus, then take a 5-minute break. Repeat.

Pomodoro is fantastic for linear, execution-heavy tasks—like writing a legal contract, analyzing a massive financial spreadsheet, or drafting copy. But as an entrepreneur, your value lies in deep creative thinking and high-leverage meetings. You cannot build a long-term brand strategy or have a deep brainstorming session in rigid 25-minute bursts.

How to use it: Protect Pomodoro for your "deep work" admin days. If you need to crank out a pitch deck, lock yourself in a room, set the timer, and execute. For strategic thinking, throw the timer away.\
\
The Entrepreneurial Verdict: 5/10 (Highly Conditional).

#### 4. Time Boxing / Theme Days (The Context-Switching Cure)

The Concept: Dedicating specific blocks of time, or entire days, to just one specific functional area of your business.

Context switching is the silent killer of entrepreneurial momentum. If you answer a client complaint, then immediately try to write a marketing plan, your brain experiences cognitive lag. Theme days eliminate this.

How to use it: Build a predictable weekly rhythm. For example: Mondays are for team alignment and operations; Tuesdays and Wednesdays are locked for deep product and strategy work (no external meetings allowed); Thursdays are for marketing and client calls; Fridays are for financial reviews and admin.\
\
The Entrepreneurial Verdict: 9/10.

### The Tech Founder’s Toolkit: Frameworks That Actually Scale

If you are running a tech company or a startup, your business operates on software logic. It only makes sense that your personal productivity should too. Here are the frameworks borrowed directly from the tech industry that work wonders for entrepreneurs:

#### The MVP Day (Minimum Viable Productivity)

In product management, an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is the simplest version of a product that can be launched to test the market. Apply this to your calendar. When you are hit with a crisis, burnout, or a heavy wave of meetings, pivot your schedule to "MVP mode."

Strip away everything that isn’t critical to keeping the business alive for the next 24 hours. Define just one crucial task for the day. If you ship that one thing, the day is a success — even if your inbox is completely on fire.

#### Async Communication & "Makers vs. Managers" Scheduling

Tech teams thrive on asynchronous communication (Slack, Notion, Loom) rather than endless real-time meetings. As a founder, you have two roles: the Manager (who aligns teams, talks to clients, and clears blockers) and the Maker (who needs deep focus to think about strategy or design product funnels).

Never mix these two states on the same day. Use a framework popularized by Paul Graham: divide your week into "Manager Days" (packed with back-to-back 30-minute status calls) and "Maker Days" (completely blank calendars where your team knows you are strictly offline for deep strategic work).

#### Personal Sprints & Retrospectives

Instead of making overwhelming "yearly resolutions" or massive quarterly plans that become irrelevant in three weeks, plan your life in 2-week agile sprints.

Every two weeks, define 3 to 4 key shipped milestones you want to achieve personally or for the business. At the end of the sprint, hold a 15-minute "personal retro" with yourself: What went well? What blocked me? What processes do I need to optimize or automate for the next two weeks?

#### Ruthless Automation (The QA Mindset)

Tech entrepreneurs shouldn't be fixing typos or manually moving data from spreadsheets to emails. Treat your manual daily tasks like "bugs" in your business operating system.

If you catch yourself doing a repetitive, manual task more than three times a week, you have two options. Either automate it using modern no-code tools (Zapier, Make, AI workflows) or delegate it. Your brain capacity is too expensive to be used as a manual data pipeline.

Productivity for an entrepreneur isn’t about checking the maximum number of boxes on a checklist. It’s about leverage.

Stop trying to force your chaotic, creative business journey into rigid corporate frameworks. Ditch the 2-minute distractions, ignore the 25-minute alarms when you are in a creative flow, and focus entirely on protecting your energy for the big strategic moves. After all, you didn't build your own business just to become a slave to a timer.

Stop trying to run a startup on generic 25-minute timers. Discover why popular productivity rules trap founders, and explore agile frameworks like MVP Days and Personal Sprints.
